I would like to share to the list a rather amazing experience I had a few
nights ago, and in a way it also relates a bit to the threads about hearing
different voices. This experience gave me a completely new and different
understanding about them.
It is somewhere around 2-4 am during the night and I wake up from sleep.. I
go back, but instead being completely concious the whole time, like in
concious dreaming/sleeping.. But it is more like a very spontaneous
meditation. I go deep into myself and hear a crowd of voices. Very big
crowd. Male, female, child, all sorts of voices. They are babbling.. So many
that I can't pick out what they are saying. Eventually they start to drop
away one by one, until there is only one left.. It felt as if all these
voices were my thoughts! And the more deep I went, the less the crowd. I
listened to the single voice for a while, and it sounded very garbled. Words
and words and words and I couldn't really pick out what it was saying.
After a while, the single voice faded out too, and there was nothing but a
beautiful, tranquil silence, a void.. I experienced thoughts in it, but not
as a babble coming from somewhere.. They came from the center, floating out
in the void. But the void was so big that the thoughts just dispersed into
it and disappeared completely.
Then came a deep insight, a knowing.. I suddenly knew that at that time, I
could manifest anything in this void. Absolutely anything. For some reason
it ended up being music. So I started to weave a strand of music in the void
(Have no idea how!) It was very dim and vague, and didn't carry much sound
at first. But then I remembered a mudra we learned at the yoga teacher's
retreat last week that would redirect prana.. So mentally I preformed this,
and fused the string of music with energy! Like merging mental and pranic
energy. Incredible! The string of music started to be filled with "color"
of sound, and became alive!
Amusingly enough I heard at first "Neverending Story" by Limahl, from the
80s move.. I absolutely love this song, and that story is all about infinite
creation as well. Very fitting.. Now, I could experience this music fully!
Hear it, all the details, instruments, the voice, the words, all of it.. Not
like recalling music or having a song going in the head. Hearing it,
flawlessly. Then I started to gently nudge this string of music, and it
started changing.. The Limahl voice started singing stuff that was never
made before.. Then I went off in completely different directions, it turned
into blues and other music styles and amazing blends.. I must have gone on
doing this for quite some time, and the memory is fading after that, maybe I
drifted into sleep.
It's truly remarkable how it is possible to bring forth an experience like
that, breathe life into it!
Voices in the head don't really concern me much now.. I've observed them and
played with them upclose. They seem to be nothing more than different
desires of the ego.. This experience allowed me to just slide past them
without fighting or struggling with them. The only voice worth listening to
is the voice deep inside, the clear, tranquil voice of creation.
