Reiki seems to be a hot topic with this group. I had an initiation 12 months
ago (levels one and two) and it did send me into an energy tail spin. It
did open me up - in the sense that it enabled me to see energy pattern and
thoughts - and cleared me out. I was burning for weeks afterwards. It also
brought up past lives and the energy techniques I learnt.
I don't think the experience was harmful - I subsequently did two levels of
Sekhem - but it did unbalance me. My trip to Bhutan fixed the imbalance. I
treked to a remote monastery where a monk spontaneously opened my crown to
its widest point while I was putting my shoes on. This enable me to engage
with the energy properly and to receive the full force of what was being
offered to me. Since then the universe has sent various "initiations" which
I received through meditations or when I was asleep. I too am wary of having
people work on me.
Just because you sense that someone is intuitive or sensitive or powerful it
doesn't mean that they know how to control the energy that they can tap into
Personal experience talking here! Can you talk to this colleague and
discuss your concerns? Perhaps you could teach her you methods of
constructing boundaries.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering how everyone feels about Reiki? Reiki Attunement??
Ever since shaktipat, I have been very cautious about letting people 'play
around' with my energy. Okay, I'm a control freak. I would rather have any
damage caused by myself then by anyone else. However, I have, in the last
ten years, allowed it to happen 4 times. One woman threw me into a terrible
imbalance with Polarity Therapy and it took several weeks of meditation to
get everything back in order. I have always felt some people can be rather
reckless with energy work and it concerns me. I've only, reluctantly
allowed those I trust to touch me in that way. I basically believe all self
work should be done by . . . um . . . yourself.
The reason I ask is that I've gotten a strong sense that I should,
regardless of my feelings, take Reiki training. My landlord has an office
in the same building as I do and is considered to be phenomenal. I know she
is very intuitive, but I don't necessarily think it prudent that she brings
in all these spirits into the office building. I see them all the time and
have to constantly enforce boundaries with them. (They are not allowed in
my office). Anyway, I still can't seem to get rid of this feeling that I
should take training with her. It's been pulling and tugging for a couple
of days.
Although, I will end up doing what my heart dictates, I would really love
some input. I'm giving this time to makes sure it is my heart and not my
ego acting as my heart, before making any concrete plans. So, does anyone
think this is a path worth following? Any experiences with it, good or bad?
I already have an ability to move and manipulate energy with my hands.
Reiki may refine it or dement it. I don't know.
