Terril,
I enjoyed reading your comments...and I see you are an explorer too!
Worlds of possibilities as infinite beings..
As for comments and story on ego attachments; yes, I see your point; makes perfect sense and is quite funny visualizing that scenerio in the story.
I had been thinking along the lines of how would a student discern if someone really has transcended all attachment to form, if a teacher was claiming such a thing. It might be easier for a student to understand the lesson if the master ate the coals than demonstrated by a smoke!
Thanks for the humor!
Namaste,
Mara

But to completely Master being human is only the beginning as growth in awareness has much higher vistas.
Some on there way to complete mastery may still have attachments but a fully ripened Human can enjoy things without being attached by ego.
I was told a story years ago about a Yogi Master with a small band of aspirants .. The Master went over to a fire and began grabbing handfuls of red hot coals and eating them as fast as he brought them to his mouth. Of course the student decided being a vegetarian was not so bad after all.
Love, Light & Peace
