Dear Janel,
Forgiving the wrongs of others against us is the best thing we can do for
our selves and our own peace but sometimes its not enough. You may forgive
someone but does that mean that you have to be in a relationship (any kind
of relationship) that you know will result in the same hurt being repeated
over again? If you know the nature of an individual than you can be certain
they will act out their nature. A scorpion will sting as it is their nature
to do so. Recognize the nature of those that hurt you. At the same time
try to realize that the shadow of deformed or immature personalities covers
the same ultimate beauty and life that makes the loveliest flower or golden
light from the Sun. It is a temporary and fleeting mask that one-day will
fall away. If you have to deal with someone on a daily basis that
consistently wrongs you do not volunteer your pearls or they will get
trampled. Just try to see beyond their miserable facade to the One Life
beneath. It is that One Life that Loves and Cherishes you even while the
mindless mask of appearance may strike out at you. And never think for a
moment that you can change another person for that has to be the learning
and choice of that person. I can tell you that I never changed for anybody,
as it is hard enough to change for myself.
Loving the God in someone doesn't mean you have to let his or her shadow
block out your Light. If you have to, love them from a distance.
You NEED to communicate your feelings and get that energy moved out
from your throat chakra. I don't know your particular situation but if it
is not possible or wise to voice your pain to the one that hurt you than
find a good therapist to help facilitate removing that backed up energy in
your throat.
