my guess would be that it's both. my meditation Teacher asserted 4am as a
very powerful time. if you've ever laid awake in the early a.m. without
looking at a clock, you can feel something shift about that time. it's as
tho the world suddenly becomes especially quiet, just before bursting again
into activity. then, i also think we're especially open to influences while
sleeping.
