I don't think reiki is detrimental to kundalini itself. In fact, I have
recommended to people to get a reiki treatment if the k flow is a bit
turbulent in their bodies. It can help smooth it out. Sometimes it works
and sometimes it doesn't.
Almost ten years ago I had a spontaneous reiki attunement by just
reading about what each of the symbols meant. My inner voice told me
clearly that the symbols are just a picture of energy and once I knew
that the energy just flowed into me. Actually, it almost knocked me off
the chair where I had been sitting and reading about Reiki on the
internet.
So I can say from experience that Reiki can be beneficial for assisting
in k flow. But after that experience I lost all interest in learning
about Reiki because my inner voice says, "Ok, you are done now. Move
on."
You can do reiki flow without the symbols. The symbols, to me, are like
training wheels or code like Angelique says. There are times when we
all need some external support. Call it a crutch if you will. Eventually
we don't need those things.
There is always another level of something to arrive at, to flow into.
The universe is infinite.
Kundalini is intelligent energy. Joint point and it goes where it wants,
where it knows it is most needed. As a healer who works with k the best
thing I can do and have learned from is to detach myself from the
outcome or results. What I or the healee may want, many times is not
what happens.
Healing happens from the inside out, from the deepest part out to the
shallowest part of our being. We just have to trust that that kundalini
knows what it is doing.
