Hi Antoine:
The one thing that I can say for sure that your intuition is correct - I´m
definitely not in the advanced stage of practice where I can thrive on one
or two hours of sleep per night. While to a point, the energy keeps me
going (when this energy is not happening, I could not possibly function
adequately through a day after a sleepless night), I still can´t function at
a level adequate enough to maintain my life I have to retreat into a
survival mode of getting through work and hibernating at home. Thanks for
your thoughts about top-down awakening my intention in posting was just to
get a wide range of thoughts and opinions, in the hope that a particular
comment or thought will plant an intuitive seed that will germinate and be
later fruitful as I try to work my way through this, and your thoughts are
now planted in that soil. I'm of a mind to perhaps try the grounding
exercise.
I resist not sleeping much less than I used to when it started last winter,
so while I would not say that the discomfort of not sleeping is not an
issue, it is less than it used to be I´m used to it in a way right now,
but still, the state of sleep deprivation wreaks havoc with my emotions, so
I would tend to say that it is the sleep deprivation itself that is mostly
the issue.
Many thanks for your thoughts and opinions on this matter.
Kindest regards
Paul
