I needed very little sleep from then on, I would often only sleep 3 nights
a week.
:-O I could sleep for England!
. I know you say that your life is being ruined by insomnia and that it is
disrupting your ability to

whether it is due to a feeling of overwhelming energy.
How can extra energy ruin your life? I have to conserve it to even try to
function. I have considered going to a supermarket and sucking the
customers. (not nice that is it?)
, I have always seen these

some cases to avoid the discomforts that are incurred on the path.
Personally I see nothing wrong with wanting to avoid discomforts. Why
choose suffering? Or stoically put up with it unneccessarily?
Humankind always needs to be occupied for some reason or other, otherwise
they get bored, so I always saw techniques as a way of occupying oneself
also, albeit occupying oneself in a more useful way.
Like a hobby? I think that's true of a lot of people, but it may also be
the spirit inside directing, even though consciously we may not realise
that. After all there are a lot more exciting things to do to pass the time
than zazen. I can think of about 20 in a nanosecond.

force this or that to happen, nor to avoid the consequences of our spiritual
evolution. Having said that, if the insomnia is causing you to be ill then
of course you go and see a doctor in order to be diagnosed. My personal
advice is, therefore, to take a rest from all practises, to not even
meditate, to just live your life in total observation of what is happening
within you as your interact in life, to spend more time living life than
practising techniques. Perhaps then, through rest from techniques, but
rather through self-observation, you will see what the inner problem is that
causes the insomnia (if there is a problem at all), or the insomnia will
disappear spontaneously, in which case you will know that you overdid the
practising of techniques. Learning to do nothing, to just observe, is also
a meditation of sorts, and a way to ‘see´ what is within, it is
contemplating and consolidating what is within
I agree you should stop everything.(not that I know anything - so take this
with a pinch of salt) Your nerves are becoming over-purified. It's too
quick for comfort. Softly softly catchee monkee. Let the body settle and
recover. Then you could probably start gently again if you wish. Observe
yourself.
I sound like a right knowall don't I? Lol. Well I'm not. F'rinstance, I
was thinking "who is this Goddess?" I don't like outside gods and goddesses
being imposed on me. "Worship that." (**** off) But it's me isn't it?
The Goddess is within me. Some force inside.
The shakti force to the shiva peace?
Reading the recent posts, I've come to realise that I was one of those
people who started off topdown. Psychic abilities, loving all mankind, all
that. Then I became attuned to Reiki, which poured energy into me from the
ankles up (even though reiki masters initiate through the crown) I'm still
pissed off about the way it's upset my life.
I've come to think, very grudgingly, that maybe the energy is clearing
blockages.
But I still wish I'd been left in my airy-fairy peace. Life was sweet!
Oh well
All the best
Marion
