Hmm, that is something to think about-unlearning what's been learned. Everything returning to nothing.
Another picture that comes to mind, is spending years hiking up a mountain, finally getting to the summit for a brief glimpse of beauty till the clouds roll in, then realizing you actually do have to get back down somehow. Maybe that's my problem now, I've always have been better at going up the hill than down :)

That's exactly it, like reaching the apex of everything, crossing the point of no return, then suddenly realising I've been here before.
We are moving in ever decreasing circles, who knows how long we enjoy the ride, till this magic roundabout comes to a stop.
Something springs to mind from star wars, "you must unlearn what you have learned", I wonder if this is what is happening.
