Interesting. I am reading a book from Neale Donald Walsh, called an
unusual conversation with God (my translation). He also ´received´ very
specific and detailed answers to his questions, often wraped in humour.
Maybe God represents himself attuned to the perception of the receiver,
sages in your case.

These “sages’ as I call them seem nothing like some of the
extraterrestrials that are generally talked about because they are far
from hostile, in fact they just ooze with love and are extremely
humorous. In fact, the video that I saw of the different species
indicates that very little is known of this particular type, but what is
known about them ties in in practically all cases with what I know of
them.
