Well, he •does• advocate the use of both cannabis and psilocybin,
especially as an aid to meditation. And his synthesis of various
conspiracy theories is, er, somewhat startling. His real focus, though,
seems to be community building. He gives away a lot of money in support
of the arts and various other worthwhile causes. (He also has a plan to
replace interest and debt-based money with "community currency"):

Perhaps it is all pipe dreams, or the twisted ravings of a blissed out
loonburger. It •might• just turn out to be a sort of practical joke.
I got a good vibe off the guy though. I was impressed by his apparent
total lack of anger, and his detached manner of speaking. Despite his
rather vivid prose style, he struck me as a very calm, grounded and
somewhat child-like person. There was an audible gasp in the room as he
announced, somewhat apologetically, that he believes himself to be the
reincarnation of both Jesus and the Buddha. Glances were exchanged.
People walked out grumbling. Lots of us stayed, though. The real basis
of his message was positive: Seek truth, seek justice and love one another.

Maybe it's just fun to have a messiah in the neighborhood. Maybe we're
all suffering from delusions. Personally, I have no idea whether he's a
genuine messiahtreya or not. It doesn't really matter to me. From what
I've seen, he's an admirable person trying to do good things. I doubt
many people will take him seriously unless his predictions start coming
true. But that's in the future, which doesn't exist. Yet. Should be a
pretty wild ride, whichever way it may turn out. Be well. M
