We all know how history has a habit of changing and warping things, like
Chinese whispers every generation modifies the stories so that they fit in
with the modern age. It really depends on whether the master that gave the
master that gave the master... gave the right mantra or one suited to their
own needs.
How can we tell we can't, but words have power if they are having a good
effect on us why should we reference them back to the source, they are
simply a tool, to tune ourselves into a certain level of awareness after
witch they are no longer of use to us.
Every mantra if said correctly is said by the soul, if the soul does not
like a certain mantra it will not give any power to it, so the true mantra
is easy to find it is the one that is simply easy to say, like certain words
for example it is much easier to say life then it is to say death, much
easier to say love then it is to say hate, but even then the soul only puts
its true power into a mantra if it is meant to be said, otherwise it just
becomes a empty promise, and leads us round in circles.

I have a question about mantras. Mystress talked about
how mantras (with respect to reiki symbols) can get
tainted with people's thoughts and can start carrying
them. So what about the mantras that people have used
for thousands of years, stuff that has been handed
down through Yogis and the Buddha...
is it true that it is the intention behind chanting
the mantra that works, so the mantra (the sound
vibration) is actually not the cause of the increased
energy and chakra openings, but instead tricks the
mind, or is it both?
Also, if the sound mantras emanated from the core of a
being lost in samadhi ( as thats how i think mantras
came about, the yogi's "insides" started to vibrate to
some tone, like the OMKARA which he then handed down
to others) doesnt it come from the godhead? so in
effect, its beyond getting tainted....
