maybe these will help balance you out again, I don't know much about reiki
as I haven't had it done on myself, I've always been able to heal
differently just by moving the energy of the heart down through the arms, or
through the solar plexus.
I remember a friend of mine having problems with her energy last year two it
kept on fluctuating in out of balance and she was getting hot and cold
sweats, (heat signifies pushing energy out through the front of a chakra and
cold by pushing it out through the back, the ideal is in the centre of the
body just in front of the spinal column) I didn't really think of it at the
time but the year before she had been activated to reiki level one. She went
to a spiritual healer who told her that one of her minor chakras was
malfunctioning it's colour is brown and it is found directly underneath the
root chakra, she got much better after she started meditating on that point.
I believe now that the purpose of these symbols is to help fuse the earth
energy with the spiritual energy (heaven and earth) and to make the body the
conduit for its transference to others. If someone is not properly grounded
what could happen is they drain the energy from their root chakra (or other
peoples) rather then the earth, the exact same thing could happen with the
higher chakras, where someone could drain energy from the brow and crown
rather then from the eternal thereby causing problems (neuralgia etc) in
their own energy systems (and the people they are connected to).
It is possible that the symbols could be acting like dams allowing the
redirection of energy through certain parts of the body, and if this is the
case they will seriously impede the spiritual growth of the person
activated, like all things mantras, yogic positions, visualisations, etc
they are a tools for tuning and healing, and become redundant after certain
stages of development and awareness.

I was attuned to Usui Reiki and Shamballa about five years ago. I have
NEVER had the same energy level since. I was told at the time that it was
because my body was detoxing. I no longer believe that.
