Better know ourselves then.

I'm thinking of something Ursula Le Guin once wrote about the
possibility of truly understanding something we haven't experienced--if
we have a properly working imagination--and the possibility of being
utterly clueless about events that have actually involved us, if our
imagination happens to be badly integrated. (Consider Bush in
Iraq--thinking he understands the place completely--and therefore
totally at the mercy of the products of an imagination he doesn't even
know he has...)
