I hear voices too. In my experience, I receive them form within. This voices have been called channeling. Channeling for me is the ability to STAY with Pure Positive Energy Flow. The more I practice the more I am able to stay longer times. I can receive thoughts, images, guidelines on how the energy flows and what to do with it, what to do next, how to think about any subjects, etc. Sometimes I receive images about the future. Just as long as I am feeling Pure positive Energy I allow it and I choose to stay in it and I believe it. I've experienced great help, guidance and miracles by just listening to those messages.
It has been always helpful for me to stay within myself and the expansion of the self whether I felt that the massages are coming from my own Inner Teacher, higher self or if I felt like the massages are coming from an entity outside myself such as an angel or a being of light.
"Positive feelings" are always my true and faithful guide to a better life.

Yeah! The voices I've experienced have been equally strange. They seem to
come from someplace outside ourselves, but at the same time from within the
brain. Very strange. In some strange way they seem to be part of us, but so
foreign as to be totally unfamiliar! :)) Therefore, since we don't recognize
them, we tend to presume ( true or false) they are not part of our Selves. In
my case they send understandings, or, as you noted, constructive advice on how
to deal with K energy. I seldom have these experiences any more, but they
seem to access a part of the brain that under ordinary circumstances we don't
have access to. I call it the message center.
Here's what I wrote about 8 months into my experiences:

That's good to hear! :))
It's a shame really, about the fear in our culture about hearing voices. Of
course many Mystic figures throughout the ages have heard these voices. From
Moses to Jean dArc. It's always important how we interpret them and whether
we act on them. I tend simply to listen and watch them with fascination and
curiosity--assuming that they are simply a distillation of knowledge and
metaphors for the extraordinary nature of K-energy.
