On 2004/02/03 00:40, K-list owner posted thus to the K-list:

    Off topic, but...

   based on bounce reports i have been getting this past week, it appears
that a virus is using the kundalini-gateway.org domain as a "from" alias.
These virus emails often contain the message:

>The message cannot be represented in 7-bit ASCII encoding and has been
>sent as a binary attachment.

    My computer and my ISPs are not infected... there is nothing I can do
about a virus using my domain as an alias, except to warn you all, and wait
it out.

    Various addresses have been used, including the list address, my
personal addresses, and several addresses that do not actually exist, in
the "To" and "From fields, such as

>From: jackATkundalini-gateway.org
>To: sandraATkundalini-gateway.org
>Subject: test
>From: johnATtest.com
>To: billATkundalini-gateway.org
>To: mattATkundalini-gateway.org
>To: kevinATkundalini-gateway.org

    + Adam, julie, robert, etc... never encountered a virus that spoofs the
"To" address, as well... Mail sent to addresses that do not exist, at my
domain end up in my domain "Catchall" box.

     If you get any attachment that appears to come from my domain, do not
open it. All mail sent from the domain, including list mail, my personal
mail, autoresponders, etc. is always sent plain text, except for a few
people who are on the list in digest form and did not check "plain" as
their digest option, and so may get the digest mail as attachments.
