I know what you're feeling, Rick, but think about what you're saying.
We can't challenge K to do anything, nor can you ask something else to
"make" you surrender! By it's very nature, "surrender" is an inside
job. The very fact that you're asking it to do it for you means that
you're not doing it yourself! Here is a very basic law at work: the
more we want something, the more we affirm that we don't have that
something already. The trick isn't to find it, but to recognize that
it's not lost!
I have a hard time with surrender, too, but I keep working on it.
There's a huge difference between understanding something
intellectually and actually GETTING it. No one, not even our Higher
Selves, can do it "for" us until we're ready to do it ourselves.
You're waiting for something to happen -- but there is nothing that
needs to happen for us to be God. We have to do the work of waking up
to Reality.
Here's something that helps me a great deal to contemplate when I feel
deserted by God:
Realize that it is a scientific FACT that everything you see is not the
thing itself, but instead what you "see" is your brain's interpretation
of the visual cues being sent to your eyeball. This image is then
interpreted by your brain to be something that exists outside yourself.
Another FACT is that you are completely accepting the notion that the
object(s) you're looking at is outside yourself -- but do you KNOW that
it is? What you're seeing is an image in you're brain.
You say you can you touch it, so it must be "out there". Well, what is
touch? It is the interpretation of signals in your brain that get
interpreted as the feeling of an object. Just more signals in the
brain.
The key to remember is that you're responding to *signals*, not the
things themselves. We operate on what our brains tell us about the
world around us -- but we have NO WAY of knowing whether the "outside
world" that we believe to exist has any reality other than what we give
it.
THAT is the meaning of Maya (Illusion). The universe you experience is
ALL IN YOUR HEAD.
And Maya is incredibly powerful as long as we keep forgetting what's
really going on. I can't say that I'm at a point where I remember that
all the time, but *trying* to remember it all the time is certainly
helping me from getting too despondent about not being where I think I
"should" be.
:o)
Namaste,
Morgan
