I'm curious if anyone knows authentically the snake has 3.5 twirls?

After closely observing many a Naga on a recent excursion, I can't help but
find most tails are depicted in only 3 twirls. Shouldn't the tail be
dangling at the front if it were really 3.5.

It only seems to be from behind?


Just curious.
