Subject: [K-list] Woe is Her - Woe is Me

Hello Good K People,

On this and the 911 list I occasionally shared
about my folk singer friend who's a fundie and
fell into the Satanic ritual abuse myth. She's
the one who was baffling the best doctors
at UCLA as to why she getting seriously ill
all the time. She was attracted to me (as she
would be to most you on this list) because I
has a spiritual awakening. I was attracted to
her because of her awesome talent, her glow
and my own interest in supposed demonic
possession.

We became close friends and even though we
argued (her Bible, her "renunciation" of her
former, we adjusted lesbian life, her unrelenting
belief that the devil makes you do it... the list
goes on) we remained buddies.

About three weeks ago she had dinner with
Cheryl Crow and some industry folk who wanted
to sign her. The next night she invited me over
to help move some sound equipment. It was also
her birthday, so we went out to dinner later.

After she dropped me off, she was in a horrible
auto accident thanks to a hit and run drunk
driver. She suffered several broken bones, collapsed
lung and a brain injury. Her air bag failed to
open. She barely pulled through with her life
and is now in the hospital undergoing therapy to
get her motor skills back. Whether she'll be
able sing and play guitar again is uncertain.

I feel so shity.

I was wondering why she wasn't returning my
calls... I was all ready to try another round
of tearing down her belief system... and all
the time she was unconscious in ICU.

PS. In case you haven't noticed, life is
    short, fragile and beautiful. As Guy
    suggested.... "Through the eyes of a
    child." May I remember.
