We make a pretty good team. I handle the major website updates, and the
more complicated maintenance of the list serv program, but she does most
all of the day to day list moderator-hostess duties, welcoming people and
responding to questions, plus handling the messages to the moderator, unsub
requests, etc.
Not surprised people think her the owner, and I don't mind at all! She
also helps out quite a lot with the website, handles the requests of people
asking to have their names removed from the archives, (she is polite, I
just want to smack them!) and she does all the polls, poetry, threads and
awakening stories updates, and sometimes adds to the links pages. My ADD is
makes that sort of regular maintenance difficult. I try to make a small
change, I notice other things that need fixing and get drawn into a week's
work! .. as a result, I ended up avoiding all the small stuff, and Hillary
handling it is a great help and a relief.
I give the website a good scrub every January, while adding the
previous year's list archives. I usually spend about three weeks at it,
hunting down broken links and seeing what else can be added... until my
attention span gets burnt out and whatever is left, waits till next
year. Last year was bigger, with moving the list twice, which also
involved moving the whole site to a new server with the same host. Some
things never did get done, like updating the list FAQ...
Not neglecting to thank to the three other co-moderators, Jason,
Stephen and Susan. Jason is usually the first to respond to the moderator
requests that come to the mod-squad list, stuff like Corinna's sending a
post from a different address than the one she was subscribed by, and
notifications of other posts from non-members... deleting a whole lot of
spam spam spam. He and Stephen respond to the various queries we get at the
moderator address. Susan is not active here lately, she is busy caring for
the K-sex list, which I gave into her ownership some time ago... and doing
a great job of it! The K-sex list has thrived under her ownership.
So, it is certainly not a one-woman show... although it was for the
first few years, before I burnt out and wised up enough to ask for
volunteers to help.

Wow, funny to think it has been so long! 1996... and now 2004 is
nearly upon us. The list would be nothing, if there were not members. Many
