I guess I need to clarify: The chakra itself, is an infinitely tiny
point of light, but it radiates an energy field, like how a black hole is
infinitely tiny, yet the gravity of it extends far. Like how the range of
light from the sun is much larger than the sun. We can feel the energy of
the sun even though we are far from it.
Blockages in the energy field, can be felt, they cast a shadow and
block the radiance of the chakra. The chakra is eclipsed by the blockages,
like when the moon passes in front of the sun, and it gets dark.
The petals are symbolic, of the radiating field and of the properties
of the chakra itself. The rays of light. They refer to different
properties, vibrations, qualities of the chakra.
For example the crown chakra is referred to as the "1000 petaled lotus"
because "1000" is symbolic of infinite. The crown chakra continues to open
all your life, as you integrate more and more of All that Is.
The third eye chakra is usually depicted as having two petals... which
makes it look like an eye. The two petals could be described as signifying
energy outward and energy inward. The third eye can look outward, to see
energy, or to view things from a distance in time, space and dimensions...
there is also an inward looking quality, which is sometimes described as
the "blue pearl" a source of divine wisdom incoming.
Usually, the petals of a chakra do not open all at once, they unfold
gradually like a flower, as the chakra field is cleared of blockages and
the various qualities of the chakra become apparent.
For example, most people get the visual, intuitive effects of the third
eye, (first petal) long before they get the Blue pearl appearing as a guide
(second petal) and some never get the blue pearl... and of course, many
people who are not on a spiritual path, do not open the third eye at all.
BTW: The types of entities who like to feed on your life energy and
personal power tend to hang out in the power chakra... and they can be a
source of anxiety and upset. Some people do not believe in entities, but I
find them to be a useful paradigm. You can clear them with this:
