But isn't "awareness" enough? If one is aware of being the watcher, then one is aware of what the human self, or ego, is about. If one can observe -- and exercise choices -- then perhaps one wouldn't continue to repeat mistakes? Once one becomes the watcher then the realization of perfection isn't far behind...unless one steps back into not watching.

I don't quite understand surrender if you can be aware of what is going wrong.
