   For me, it was most often August... I had more strange and harrowing
Augusts, over the years... and fewer crises in October, although there have
been a few. January has been a pivotal month for me, too... but the pattern
seems to have passed.

    August here brought record forest fires... now October brings record
rainfall, and devastating floods.
