Greetings,

There is a story about Buddha: A man came to him and asked to be taught
about the Divine. Buddha takes him down to a river and wades out into the water
with him. He then grabs the man and holds him under the water a while.
Shortly the man begins to thrash about and tries to get his head above water. But
Buddha holds him there until he is just about to drown, then just as he is
about to inhale water, Buddha yanks him up.

The man is angry, but the Buddha asks him "What was your last thought before
I pulled you up?" The man said "Air, I wanted air." Then the Buddha said,
"When you want the Divine as badly as you want air, then you shall have it."

It is my understanding that this is way baptisms were conducted in times
past. The initiate was put through an ordeal (water, fire, priests dressed as
monsters, etc...) that inspired great fear in the initiate...the fear of death.

After "surviving" the initiation. The initiate had a new perspective to
consider. He/she had looked his/her fear directly in the face and conquered it.

Fear hold a key to a Divine awakening. By overcoming the fear, we receive
the key and it can then be used to unlock many of the other doors that separate
us from our Divine Self. (However, there are other keys.)

"There is no obstacle that cannot be overcome with determination and
undauntable courage"....Madame Blavatsky

In my opinion, it is neither Good nor Bad...it just IS. The only question is
do YOU want to follow the "hard, difficult, 'dangerous' " path or take "the
easy route"?

"Nothing worthwhile is every easy."

May all who seek find their key(s)!
