In the past I practiced Kundalini yoga with a group of Sikhs and got a lot of
benefit from the exercises. I still use the breath of fire sets when I fell a
certain need to "charge up." But I did find the group mentality pretty
irritating - but then again I find most group mentalities irritating. I don't think
we're culturally conditioned in the West for gurus and there's a lot of
immature ego investment in power structures in these sort of groups. But if you're
conscious you can take what's good for you and leave the rest. Just be careful
of the ego dissolution just getting transferred to mass mind.
