Yes, just trust your heart, it won't let you down. You are right to be
cautious. Maybe you need to explore developing a strong ego first before
you seek to undermine it.:)

Someone asked a teacher how long it would take them to be enlightened
working as they were, and the teacher said something like 10 years. Then the
person asked how long it would take if they meditated for 4 hours a day and
really studied hard and the teacher replied 40 years!!
