This is actually a development of Kundalini that is disorienting and
unnerving at first -- the loss of the "path." Formal meditation, prayer, ritual, etc.
can partly or wholly drop away as there is no one "out there" to pray to, no
future to do rituals for. This is a painful loss at first, but one is pushed
ever more to be present/now-centered and therefore capable of being
transparent to the divine. Rituals are then done for fun and out of a bubbling over of
