Hi Deepak,

Sounds like you have thought a great deal about your situation, including the
fact that that might be part of the problem. :)) The trouble with the mind
is that it always wants to *compare*. That is how we learn, of course, but it
can often trap us in a loop.

As far as the sexuality issue is concerned, the great majority of us are
sexual animals, and K sets off sexual energy big time. A Large percentage of
people seem to be at least partly bisexual. In fact Kensey (who himself was
bisexual) found that 30-45% of men were bi. Social factors have the effect of
moving us further toward a heterosexual scale, but when K hits, these social
factors tend to have less of a hold on us.

I'd suggest getting into physical exercise as much as possible to stir up
some endorphins.

The preconceptions of the self you "want to be" are getting in the way of
accepting the self you are. I don't think you would find a dandelion feeling
less valuable than a rose. And your friend may not be as self-assured inside as
he appears externally!

Don't be ashamed or worried that you are cycling back into what you see as
destructive patterns of jealousy, etc. This is perfectly normal. The work you do
is *not* in vain, however. There is a gradual improvement, even if it may
seem imperceptible to you.
