For those of us with restless minds, there are ways to meditate that take
advantage of a restless mind. One way is to just watch your thoughts as
they come into the mind....and then watch as you watch your thoughts.
Thoughts are a lot like bubbles.....not really much to them.
As to wanting to be happy.....we all do, but happiness is basically ellusive in
that nothing ever stays the same. Helping and loving all beings is the
real happiness, but you need to love yourself before you can truly love and
help others. That is often a problem. We want love and help in return....which
brings up selfishness and all sorts of other unloveing thoughts. Maybe start
by looking at your emotions and watching how they arise.
