If the Self is likened to Atman, and Atman to Brahman (the Absolute), then, the Self is has no attributes beyond Sat, Cit, Ananda (Being, Consciousness, Bliss). It is Unmanifest. There is Consciousness without an object. Therefore, I don't believe the Mind is the same as the Self, the mind might be likened to Jiva, the individual Soul as manifest. I don't believe the Self desires siddhis, since desire requires an object. I do think achievement of all siddhis would represent a perfect Mind, though. The highest hope in the Manifest universe.

P.S.) Rick, I thought you were thinking out of the box, in spiritual circles I find your idea of the re-creation of the mind at birth to be rather novel :o)

Perhaps some "out of the box" thinking needs to occur? Personally, I
believe the Mind is the same as Self, IOW, God. I'm talking about All of
What Is no matter the label. Our M/mind is not only life itself, but it's
life Itself. And yes, I believe siddhis come from the Mind, but not in the
same way Rick does.

Re-incarnation involves evolution, so, IMO, siddhis that existed in a
"previous life" or lives occuring at the same moment (my belief) continue to
exist and demonstrate their presence with each evolution or incarnation.
How can they disappear? They always HAVE existed.

The "mind" is never re-made IMO. The BRAIN is remade, physically. But the
mind is not only where we come from, but where we're going and everything in
between. The mind holds our emotions, our psychic abilities, and our
"siddhis" altho as divine beings, we've always had those abilities. Perhaps
in our evolution we will manage them better.

But look at the k awakenings in younger and younger people -- for no reason?
Something is changing, including the ability to access a mind form to
reality form of ability...siddhis. Manifesting IN the Mind.
