Hi Rick,
I agree with Hety. The mind is everything. There is only one mind with
many different landscapes and levels. For me the chakra's are a system of
reduction valves that allows everything to take a particular form with their
particular limitations. As the limitations are transcended and included
more is seen. I really like Mystress Angeliques idea of an eye for each
chakra. Each eye opens onto a new layer of reality. We are centres of
perception located in time and space for one consciousness, one mind whose
two poles are energy and awareness.
Average human development seems to get to the solar plexus at this point of
time. Most people have developed themselves physically and emotionally and
can see these things as being a content of their consciousness, not as who
they are. They haven't transcended their intellect so they are identified
with it. This average level of development is actually like a centre of
gravity. It tends to lift human development to this point with realitive
ease as a child develops. There are some who, for various reasons, don't
make it. There are other's who consistently try to keep developing beyond
it. The gravity point then has a tendency to slow them down and trys to
pull them back. Much energy is needed to get out of the gravitational pull
in much the same way as the space shuttle requires megalitre's of fuel to
pull out of the earths gravitational field. I believe that burning with
intense enquiry is what fuels this flight. As people move beyond it though
this point moves to reflect a new average. I think that this is how
humanity evolves as consciousness.
I believe that as you move through the each chakra the level below is
transcended, you no longer are it but you include it as a part of you, and
then you identify as the new level. Eventually this leads to a full self
realisation of being everything and nothing simultaneously.
