Please could anyone shed any light on a very frightening experience I had in 1994. At that time I was seeing a healer who told me that because I am spiritually advanced and very sensitive I should expect "tests" and "psychic attack" - I had never heard of psychic attack and so hadn't a clue what to expect! She taught me closing down/protection techniques which on looking back just gave me reason to believe that there was something to be scared of, something out to get me! The healer also taught me about chakra's, which again I did not know anything about although I had heard of them before, and also told me that I had "problems related to the base chakra". One night I awoke at about 3am with a huge jump and felt as if something had punched me hard in the solar plexus. I remember thinking "Oh no!", that I had palpitations and my mind was racing, and that I thought that there was something in the room which was attacking me. I was very very hot, and having both hot and cold sweats. I felt that I couldn't move and was terrified. I tried to say the Lords Prayer and the 23rd Psalm, but could not remember the words. It felt as if the "thing" in the room was blocking me from remembering the words. This went on until eventually at dawn I felt as if the presence in the room had gone. I got out of bed and found that I could not stand upright, it was as if something heavy was pressing on my back, I felt ill and very very frightened. I telephoned my healer, all she told me was that this is an experience which all healers go through and that it shows that I am sensitive, and suggested using positive affirmations. Following this I had dreadful problems with nightmares, and seeing and hearing things at night, and became depressed for around 2 years. Doctors explained the event as a panic attack, but I know that that is not the whole story. No-one has really explained this experience to me adequately, and having now joined the K list and finding out about K arousal I think that it is probably linked?
