Dear Lavina,

Well, for me the most extraordinary stories of ghost sightings have been
those in which the figures are almost tangible. Your figures evoke a recollection
of a story I've run into several times since childhood--that of two proper
English women visiting Versaille in the early 20th century. They were walking
in the gardens when they both encountered figures from an earlier century. As
I recall the story, they both thought they must be seeing a pageant of some
sort. Seems nothing of the sort had been happening. They both saw the same
thing. They both seemed to have transcended time for a short period. See:
