Hi everyone I am Jeff Brooks, the moderator for the Jhana Support Group at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Jhanas/. Basically, I am providing a similar
service to the K-List and KUNDALINI and the others, but in a Theravadan Buddhist
context. I do however support all contemplatives, and I am endeavoring to
learn the different ways in which the spiritual awakening experience is
articulated in many traditions. My goal is to further international dialog on the
experience of spiritual awakening, and to support those who are going through it
in any way I can.
Jhana is the Pali word for ecstatic absorption, and is typically used much in
the same way I am finding Kundalini is used here and elsewhere. Theravadans
however typically avoid discussions of chakras and kundalini. In fact they
also avoid talking about jhana as well, and that is why I started the Jhana
Support Group.
I will mostly provide a Theravadan Buddhist perspective, so many apologies up
front if anyone is offended.
Best to all
Jeff
