Hillary,

Thank you for the link, which gave me useful information. As I
mentioned, I had read the Aghora books by Robert Svoboda (and hence knew
about the Aghora Master Vimalananda). Is it possible to identify the
deity or spirit, either by name or other means? How do we ask? Is
there a recommended way?

My experiences are generally consistent and self-consistent in that the
Kundalini activity and the various symptoms are all classical (explained
in great detail in several previous posts), and are always recognisable
as such although each session is invariably unique in itself. I have
not experienced any kind of discomfort or pain at all, ever. The whole
process has been very enjoyable and interesting.

The reason I asked about Avishkara is that during the Kundalini
activity, I do not feel as if I am the same person that I know as myself
in normal daily life. I feel very powerful. I feel great. I feel
expansive. I feel fearless. I feel ... - in summary, that I am a
completely different person.

In one session I started to spontaneously, automatically, effortlessly,
rhythmically, and methodologically chant powerful mantras (they sounded
familiar, but I could not definitively identify them). This continued
for about 30 minutes.

In another session, in a deep meditation, I felt as if my face sort of
contracted or morphed into someone else's face. It felt like I was a
rather dashing handsome South Indian Yoga Master, although I am from
Gujarat State in North-West India (but living in the UK since 1968). In
effect, I had suddenly became a Yoga Master and knew that I was a Yoga
Master, although in normal life I do not regard myself as a Yoga Master.

In yet another session, I saw a little baby Ganesh made of white marble
sitting alone in a small room. Its features were undefined, like a
sculpture that was almost finished, but without the fine details of a
completed statue/image.

In many Kundalini sessions, I take up various Mudra poses in a sitting
or standing position. Some of these are very similar to poses of
classical temple deities. These are generally static positions. There
are also dynamic Yogic Kriyas that occur, where there are various
beautiful and amazing patterns of different kinds of movements. These
sessions remind me of the Tandava - the fiery dance of Shiva at the
dissolution of the universe. A quick search found this instructive
site: http://are.berkeley.edu/~atanu/India/tandava.html (this is a very
good article).

Perhaps it is the Great God Shiva that enters my humble abode. I
welcome the MahaYogi, NataRaja, Rudra, Shiva.

Bhavin.
