On some cultural level I guess I agree with you. But in my actual
experience -in life - I've found that power relations are almost always
unequal and in flux. But it seems like sex is perfectly natural and "good"
to happen anyway. I think even more than sex we have issues around power -
it's very difficult to unravel. I've been spending a lot of time on it
personally and I'm constantly surprised by new unconscious dimensions . . .
I'd love to have some discussion of that topic soon. Maybe I'll sit down and
type something up in a bit . . .
But Guru's preaching morality?? Uhm - I would hope not! I wouldn't have much
use for someone teaching Advaita who preached anything, certainly not
something as culturally value bound as morality.
I know there are plenty of puritanical Christian ministers and Catholic
priests who might preach against sex and then get caught having sex - but
that seems like the nonsense and psychological confusion bred of preaching
against sex to begin with.

Thank you for your post. I had been thinking about the question on and off
yesterday and everytime I had a thought, I had another one that cancelled
the first one out. Your post nicely rounded out the experience for me.
I hope you do sit down and type something up on power.
-Julie.
