Hi all, Hilary :)
Kundalini always makes you lose your conventional
morality. Anything imposed by the egos making up a
society tends to be completely stripped. That doesn't
mean you necessarily choose to act outside the
boundaries of a society in which you live. I see
Muslim women here who live behind the Veil even though
they don't have to by this country's laws--However, I
also see Muslim women here driving--in marked contrast
to the rules in Saudi Arabia, for example, where
Muslim women are not permitted to drive. And there are
also devout Muslim women who do not go veiled.
In terms of sexual behavior, the US does not permit
men here to have four wives, but that's permitted
under Islam. So Muslim women wear veils to protect
their chastity, as it were, but they can be married to
someone who may have three other wives he also has sex
with and that's just fine by the faith. In America,
women mostly don't wear veils to protect their
chastity. Nor do they have to have sex with a husband
who is also married to three other women, something
most of us would have a hard time with. With that kind
of enormous mind and morality difference between
societies based on Islam versus Judeo-Christian, I
can't see why we give gurus grief about sex. Given the
incredible number of different cultures on this
planet, ranging from Stone-Age to Space Age, you can
probably find a society somewhere on this planet in
which everything that is forbidden in one religion is
allowed in another. Why? Because beyond the Veil
NOTHING is All, so everything gets created: hence the
following:

Does that mean I'm going to go out and act that out.
Dunno. It depends on what I still have to work on. I
find myself condemning violence--however it occurs, so
that points me in the direction in which I still need
to do work. And I think that every time I find myself
judging that kind of stuff, it just lets me know where
I still need to pay attention to my own stuff.
