Instead the focus would be better placed on the source of the self so as to
awaken the witness and to transfer consciousness from body consciousness to
the Self. More specifically Ramana's whole teaching uses a system of
self-enquiry to untie the knot that is the ego.
I agree with all what you have said but I would like to add something
else ..
As I read at the book "Be yourself". Ramana Maharshi gave the same
importance to the way of "Submission to God" and practically no one speaks
about it. And it fits exactly with the wu wei ( non-doing) principle of the
Tao Te Chin or the Chuang Tse.
Personally is the only way that I know where there is nothing to attain,
nothing to look, there are no objetives, you don´t have to do nothing, there
is no need of efforts or long hours of diciplined teqniques. You don´t have
to go anywhere and it is asumed that you already knew everything.
There is a close relation with the self-inquiry path. When you accept that
you are your whole body and not your mind. There is an expasion and your
self grow a little. And when instead of doing preprogrammed acts you start
to let go you are giving confidence to that idea. Your actions are starting
to come from the whole and not from your mind ( or in some cases the heart
I guess).
And as you said when this whole-motion starts to walk everything else
just come from it.
