Dear Rick,

This is how I view it: Soul and consciousness are and are not the same
thing. Our souls are unique but yet a part of total consciousness.
Consciousness is bigger than the soul, but contains the soul as well.

An enlightened individual need not be a self-realized individual, and
certainly enlightened need not be awakened. A self <actualized> person has
used their enlightenment to move forward in a spiritual sense.
