It seems to be more related to what Hillary describes. What I feel happen
only at the front part of the head ( psiquic eye & eyes ). Like shocks of
light that goes as fast as they come (quite intense)and that repeat as much
as five times. Yours seems to be a whole body experience. And "field of
stars" and "hundreds of tiny fireworks" make a good similitude. :)). I
haven?t gone through these experiences myself.

Similar to your "energy explosions" and "field of stars" respectively, I
get an effect which I attempt to describe as "hundreds of tiny fireworks
bursting continuously" (even with the eyes closed). This is normally
during manual or automatic Kundalini activity where there are the usual
Mudras/Kriyas occurring, with vibration of the
fingers/hands/tongue/3rd-eye/etc, electric thrills through the body, a
sense of peace, etc.

At night the energy is a filling up type that builds and fills the
entire torso like a giant tube of energy until there is an explosive release
in the whole head with a cosmic orgasmic effect. This is sometimes
accompanied by seeing a field of stars. This happens sometimes several
times a night.
There isn't a place in the body without the energy, so it's hard to relate
to
chakras or spine. It's not subtle. I awake still buzzing with the energy.
