It is extremely difficult to meet a true Yoga Master. You may pass one
in your own street, as many people have, and not even know about it!!!
You may wander over the mighty Himalayas, as many people have tried, and
not find one in decades. However, on the other hand, you can easily
find and meet many pretenders/fakes/wannabes and consequently be
severely dissatisfied or disappointed.
My teachers gave the following approximation. Suppose in India there
are 1000 million people. Of these there are about 10 million who are
Yogis/Swamis/Rishis/Sadhus/Sanyassis/Sants/Munis/.../. Of these there
are about 10 who are the very high great grand super masters, also known
as God-Men due to their advanced stage of development.
I once asked our Grand Master Swami Dev Murti Ji how an ordinary person
could meet such a God-Man. He laughed and said they do not always
remain in the Himalayan Mountains. They also want a "holiday" [!!!]
sometimes and therefore they come down to meet the people in the
cities/towns/villages (whereas the people go up the mountains for their
holidays)!!! I stayed at Swami Ji's Ashram near Delhi for a year
(1987), and there were regular visits by various types of masters, who
were specialists in different types of Yoga.
The question for the public is: can you tell the difference between a
God-Man type of master and just a master? What kind of evidence or
proof would you require? The High Masters do not show their powers, so
what criteria would you use? There are some reasonable criteria that
have been proposed by classical and modern texts/teachers. These
criteria are available on the internet.
The next question is: do you feel that you are ready to meet such a
Yoga Master?
It is highly unlikely for anyone to meet a Yoga Master by pure chance.
The best way to meet a true Yoga Master is as follows. Find a teacher
of Yoga and practice with him/her for several years. Having prepared at
least your physical, energy, and mind (ie 3 of the 5) bodies so that
they are purified and cleansed, go to the grand teacher or even to the
great grand teacher. If it is in your karma then you may get to meet a
High Yoga Master.
According to my karma, I was fortunate to have met my teachers'
teacher's teacher (ie my Great Grand Master) even though it was only one
occasion and under special circumstances. We have a few photographs of
that meeting, which show four generations!!!
Swami Ji has developed a (Kundalini) Yoga System that is simple and
effective. I am in the process of building a mini-web site. As
Mystress Angelique has already observed (on an incomplete draft initial
version), I do not know much about web design. However, I do know about
Swami Ji's Kundalini Yoga and it is that which I hope I can share with
everyone who is interested.
