What do you mean by "us", our egos?

Do you mean Jesus the man or what? Yogananda makes a distiction between
Jesus the man, and Christ consciousness, which is a spiritual state of mind,
the realization that "I and the Father are one" -- the higher Self -- beyond
duality.

Then why this talk about only coming to God thru Jesus, who occupies a
unique position as the firstborn? Isn't this multiplying entities
needlyessly? There is the ego world of duality, and the Self that is common
to us all. Jesus realized that, so he spoke directly from spirit, with the
voice of the undivided, eternal Self. Firstborn of God sounds like a
metaphor for the One becomeing Self-conscious. I don't understand where
you're coming from with these concepts of "us" (ego), God (Self), and then
this "Firstborn", who is Jesus.
