It's just not correct to simply differentiate good cases and bad cases.
My K was hell initially, but now I definitely prefer my K-state to my
pre-K state. I do think that bad effects should be emphasized, if only
to mediate that K is *real*. If one only reads about positive
experiences, one is inclined to draw the assumption that K is some
make-believe thing, a part of yoga markting brochure. And when real
things start happening, one doesn't recognize them as K.

Remember that you don't have to force K, it appears accidentally through
meditation or other "spiritual" practice. So I don't think you can avoid
the risk of K if you have engage in any spiritual practice whatsoever.

Because they are real?

I can't see how you associate K with something like sport or
academic/business subjects. K (or yoga in the first place) is more in
line with things like psychedelic drugs, which carry some risks.

I'm also sceptical about having other people meddling with your K. But
this does happen to some people, and they seem to turn out ok, and it's
all fun and games. Nobody survives life anyway.
I do think that marketing K (or yoga) as a wholesome, healthy thing is a
hoax, and should be recognized as such. They are matters of spirit,
which is all to often forgotten. They don't enhance your everyday life,
they chance the perception of it so that it becomes something different,
judged by different values. From the old perspective, the new life may
very well be worse. But it doesn't matter, because the old perspective
is logically false.
