Subject: [K-list] RE: The "more" you are looking for is inside the Bible

Inspiration is not the same as authority. My love of the Bible does not
make it an authority. All words are vibrations. For words to resonate
they must speak to my mind, heart, soul and experience. I find sources
for words from scriptures: (Christian, Hindu and Buddhist), from fiction
(books, TV shows and movies) and from my teachers (who are usually my
students).

When I read the Gospels - without the items that I feel are added - I
find a man clearly spiritually advanced who spoke with great wisdom. I
find the "ever-Living Son of God" who helps me to find the "ever-Living
Son of God" within myself. I find the same in many Buddhist, Hindu and
some New Age writings. (Although I have to admit the New Age writings
are where I find it the least.)

I also resonate with stories from the Bible that - to me - are clearly
not true. An example is the birth story. I know there are times when I
carry the Christ child within me, times when I am Mary or Joseph. There
are times when giving birth to the inner Christ within me takes me on a
journey where I end up alone giving birth. This makes the story sacred
and universal. I find the same in fairy tales and myths.

I also find that, for me, words are not eternal. Words, as vibrations,
that spoke to me at one time lose their resonance and others words speak
that did not earlier.

I have a suggestion - when referring to the Bible, use a quote and then
I can look it up, find its context and see if it speaks to me. If it
does then I will bring it into myself.
