Would you agree that you say these things because you have read these
things in the Bible? If so you may need to explain why you feel that the
Bible is telling the truth. According to research that I respect, the
New Testament was written 70+ years after Jesus died and that the
stories often reflect responses to political pressure applied against
the early church. Therefore I do not feel that the Bible can be used as
support for a given position.

I recognize that this is a very personal position. I do not wish to
enter into a heated debate of the accuracy of the Bible. Nor do I feel
that you are wrong for having your views. I just accept that we hold
differing views on this matter.

I just wish to say that if you are trying to make a point with me you
will need to use more than the Bible to do so as I do not accept it as
authority.

By the way, I also love the Bible and refer to it often as a source of
inspiration and teaching.
