It makes me wince a little when you refer to this energy as an
electro-magnetic force or field. Clearly, anyone who has felt K. knows that
it is a powerful force of some kind. However, consider that the amount of
electro-magnetic force produced by an MRI machine or high-tension power
lines is huge compared to that produced by the human body, yet it cannot be
readily felt. So, some other force is probably involved.
You might call this force prana, chi, lifeforce, or whatever, but these are
subjective terms. The force might exist as a difference in potential across
a quantum-level field, and be directly related to consciousness itself.
*shrug* What will be interesting is if someone actually discovers a way to
measure it objectively.
Lee Strobel mentions a connection between magnetism and K. in his book.
Then there's the recent "brain helmet" experiemnts, where magentic
stimulation triggers memories, feelings, visions, etc. Yet although
magnetic force can be used as a stimulous, it doesn't appear to be a prime
component of the elusive lifeforce itself.
The reason I'm being so anal about all this is that in the realm of
objective science it's important to be exact. That's why every scientific
field is filled with "buzz words". I have a feeling that we're on the verge
of some exciting discoveries. For instance, everybody can feel gravity, but
no one has seen the elementry particle the carries the force of gravity --
the graviton. NASA is planning on launching a satellite that will hopefully
detect them. Perhaps science will also soon discovery the elementry
particle that carries consciousness, what Yogananda calls the "lifetron".
