I was a bit surprised by the phrase "despite my being a Hindu".
Hinduism (ie Sanatan Dharma) does not claim spiritual exclusivity, and
all paths to God are recognised as valid. One can be Hindu and respect
(or even follow) any other religion. Hinduism itself contains many
different paths and systems of spiritual development.

You also say below "There is only one God, addressed differently by
many". This is a Hindu view. If there is One God then why should
different religions be different in essence?
