Normally I do not have much specific interest in music or dance,
probably because no one encouraged me to learn and I had no motivation
to learn myself. I don't understand the technical aspects regarding
music and its production, since I have no background in music. (My BSc
and MPhil were in Mathematics.) However, when certain types of music
(including Mantra, Trance, Punjabi, Indian Classical) start to play,
then there is a rapt attention of the mind and the body starts to dance
by itself, often for several hours without fatigue.>>
If ya fond of drums, there are some nice samples of something
like 400 drummers on
www.drummerworld.com
One of my favourites there is Bernie Dresel (Stray Cats?)
playing "Sing, Sing, Sing", I guess. Sometimes the most
simple rhythm can be very impressive. I like to try to play
along with the drum intro on toms, using my electronic
drum "kit", heh heh...
