    What you describe is pretty classic. Most people discover energy
healing in a similar way. When I teach people to feel energy, I usually
start with almost exactly the process you describe... and it is quite
universal, from qui-gong to Lightwork, to Reiki, to therapeutic touch,
to... all similar chi-based energy forms of healing.
