Briefly: Yes. These entities appear not only during NDEs but also in
some OOBs. The soul is covered by the 5 bodies/sheaths mentioned below.
Without a physical body, it would be called a spirit. As each
successive sheath is discarded there are various traditional names for
that type of being. Ultimately, only the soul (Atman) remains. It is
stainless and pure. It cannot be harmed by any elemental weapons (wind,
water, fire, air, ether).
